My Mission: To Make You The Best Writer You Can Be
You’ve poured your heart and soul out on the page, and letting someone else see it is a scary thing. I get it. That’s why Pitch2script is a judgment free zone. There are no bad scripts or pitches, just works in progress.
I teach the fundamentals of screenwriting, sharing what I've learned from working with amazing, award-winning writers and producers of all genres. Writing a great script requires a drop of magic, and a lot of math. The good news is, structure can be taught and that's my favorite part of what I do, opening new worlds to writers through simple, logical steps. Photo by Markus Spiske |
Why should you work with me?
I've worked with writers who have sold pitches to Fox, TNT, CBS, NBC and ABC, and have been staffed on premium cable dramas. Companies like Gemstone, Sony Television International, TriStar, CAA and Oxygen rely on my skills as a story analyst. I've been a mentor and workshop leader for the past eight years for the CineStory Foundation. Previously, I headed up television development for Emmy award- winning writer/director/producer Peter Tolan.

The writing help you need with a personal touch
While there are no guarantees with any coaching, the one thing I can promise is that you'll laugh at least as much as you cry. (Kidding - there's no crying involved!) Fans and customers have said, "Marla's approach has changed the way I will pitch forever," and "She has incredible ideas, tremendous patience, and a true sense of character, tone, and place," while one client called me "a fun, hip, whip-smart fairy godmother." Clients include writers who have won awards including a Nicholl Fellowship finalist, as well as published novelists. A screenwriter recently received a #Recommend ratings from Roadmap Writers, The Script Lab, and an 8 on The Blacklist after using my services to polish their script.
I know what it's like to give AND take notes
Just like you, I know the sting of critiques and the confusion when they don't make sense. I'm a published author working on two different cozy mystery series as well as urban fantasy novels. Believe me, I've had my fair share of good, bad, and downright useless notes and would never put any client through that pain. If you're curious, go to my Author Page on Amazon.
