How do you know who to work with?
I believe in giving writers practical, no-nonsense, but supportive feedback to help you craft your script into the best version it can be and not break the bank doing it. If that sounds good to you, then please allow me to rock your world with some notes!
I've worked with writers who have sold pitches to Fox, TNT, CBS, NBC and ABC, have been staffed on premium cable dramas. Clients include writers who have won awards including a Nicholl Fellowship finalist, as well as published novelists.
My adoring fans and customers have said, "Marla's approach has changed the way I will pitch forever," and "She has incredible ideas, tremendous patience, and a true sense of character, tone, and place," while one client called me "a fun, hip, whip-smart fairy godmother."
Because getting script notes can be confusing, with more options for people and services than dishes on a Cheesecake Factory menu.

Script Coverage
Coverage involves a 1 to 1.5-page synopsis, one page of comments, and a recommendation of where your script is mostly likely a fit. I’ll also connect with you via Zoom for no less than thirty minutes to discuss my comments and answer any questions.
This is the most basic service but also useful if you want a one-page sales tool for your script, you want to make sure your script is as clear as it could be, or you’re new to working with a writing coach.
Elevator Pitch
This is the version you need if you theoretically find yourself in an elevator with Kevin Feige and want to sell him on your idea. Mind you, this is the elevator to the third floor where his dentist is, not to the top of the Eiffel Tower. I’ll help you edit it town to the core ideas that will get him to say, “Interesting. Tell me more.” (He probably didn’t want to go to the dentist anyway.)
I offer a one-on-one meeting by Zoom (that way you can get the recording afterwards) up to an hour long.
